Remy sat in her office with her head in her hands, trying to take deep breaths. She knew she had to get off the ship per Captain Crae's orders. She didn't want to leave her office AT ALL. She wanted to stay in there until they left again. She had no desire to talk or meet anyone. She was going to stay on the ship until the very last minute; then, she wasn't sure what she was going to do.

She figured she would find a quiet empty place to stay for the duration of the leave. Perhaps bring a book with her to keep herself occupied. Anything other than deal with the hordes of people that were sure to be around. She took another deep breath and rubbed her chest, closing her eyes and trying to calm herself. It was going to take a bit for her to get up and get off the ship....

Aaron remembered what Lillian had told him about getting Remy to get off the ship: give her a good reason, but don't make it look like I told you to do it. It made Aaron laugh actually. He wanted to spend his shore leave with Remy anyway but now he had a reason to do it if Remy were to ask. He certainly didn't want to scare her off with a date. So instead it would be a date...that she didn't know about. He'd convince her to go down to take the shore leave they all had to take anyway, and then show her a nice time.

"Just don't be too forward..."

Nodding to himself he signaled to Remy that he was there. He wasn't quite sure what it was that he was going to say to her, but he had a good feeling about this. The two of them could spend time together. Eating together hadn't been so bad and he wanted to get to know the young woman a bit more: get her out of her shell. There was really only one way to do that...

Remy looked up, someone was here. She sighed, probably someone trying to get her to leave. She perked up for a second, maybe someone had a job for her to do so she could stay on the ship. She stood and straightened herself out, making sure she looked dignified and professional. She prayed it was someone with something science-y for her to do so she wouldn't have to leave.

She went to the door and opened it, and felt her heart drop and stop. It was the engineer she'd eaten with, "May I help you?" she asked, honestly confused.

Aaron lit up when he saw her there and he just smiled at her a moment. Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin of her face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted. So instead he decided to go ahead and get down to business about this. He wanted to spend time with her. In order to do that he had to tell her what he wanted to do and she had to agree to it so he had to speak up and stop smiling like a fool at the beautiful woman.

"Hey, Remy, I..." he trailed off a moment before continuing, "...I was wondering if you would mind helping me out with something. We all have to do shore leave and I find myself without a buddy. I really don't want to go down to the planet alone and I thought you might like to come with me...I can't think of anyone I'd rather tour this place with."

There, that was good. He couldn't possibly scare her off like that, could he?

Remy's eyes widened, then her eyebrows furrowed in conclusion. Any other person would be better to go explore the planet with, all Remy wanted to do was find a secluded spot and stay there for the duration of the leave. She then remembered that he was new to the ship, thereby probably not knowing anyone to go with aside from herself. If he knew other people he would choose them over her any other day. She let out a breath, she might as well get this stupid leave over with, and she'd gotten along with him the other day.

"Alright," She said, turning out the lights and closing the door, "You will have to guide me." She said, feeling rather silly for having no idea where to go and what to do.

He assumed that any place with lots of people would be off limits and he would never take her to a bar. She was beautiful and classy. That wouldn't be her scene. So, Aaron decided that he was going to make sure that Remy had a good time.

"I hear there's a place here where you can see both of the moons reflected in the water even when you can't see the moons. Wanna check it out?" he asked.

The lake where the moons could be scene was a historic place, Remy had read about it while researching Tercius Prime and it had actually been one of the places she'd been thinking of hiding out for the leave. She was excited at the prospect of seeing it, her chest filled with a warm feeling when Aaron suggested it. It felt so different from the cold dead weight that was ever present. She couldn't help but grin at the suggestion, "That sounds lovely." She said quietly, blushing a bit at her enthusiasm she felt. It had been agest since she'd felt anything other than emptiness and coldness, she felt light and alive.

As they exited the ship she found she couldn't stop smiling, nor blushing. It was embarrassing yet exhilarating to her. "I....I'd read about the lake, I understand its quite a s-sight." She stuttered, feeling rather silly at the moment. But it was a piece of science that interested and she was happy that Aaron had suggested it.

Aaron smiled. It was more than he could ask for, for Remy to want to go to this place. Then again, he should have known because she was a scientist and that meant that she would know all of the historical landmarks. what she might not know were the rumors that it was the second most romantic spot on the planet. So leading her there, Aaron made sure not to get in her personal bubble, but he kept close to her just in case.

"I've been wanting to see it since I read about it." Aaron said. "After, we should go ahead and grab a bite to eat. You don't mind do you? Our last meal was just fun and I thought we could do it again." Honestly he just wanted to spend more time with her, but he tried to pass it off as no big deal.

Anything other than deal with the hordes of people that were sure to be around. She took another deep breath and rubbed her chest, closing her eyes and trying to calm herself.

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

Remy thought over the idea of dinner. She had to admit that it was nice eating with him the other day, perhaps it would be nice again. She wondered if he had any friends on the ship, he must be pretty desperate to want to spend his break time with her of all people. She shrugged, "I suppose a meal would be fine, it would be preferable if we could find some place that isn't crowded though."

She thought more about the lake, excited to witness the site and wishing she had a way to take photos to document and study. She wondered where he had read about the lake, "Do you read science articles? Not many know about the scientific significance of the site." she said, if he was interested in science she wondered why he was in engineering.

"What do you do besides science, Remy?" he asked. "Do you have other interests? What made you a scientist?"

Aaron smiled and nodded. He could understand and appreciate that and sat down next to her on the bench, staying close but not too close. He looked at the water as he thought of his answer. How much to tell her and how much to keep to himself?

"My mother was kind of...she was hard on my sis and I and while Marissa chose a profession with violence to vent, I chose something that could fix problems. I really enjoy it, but that's the main reason."

She didn't need to know about his mother's problems. That was too personal.

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

"Only about things I like," he said with a shrug. "Other than that I'm afraid it's just heresay."

He smiled when they got there and took a breath. It was beautiful. Not as beautiful as Remy but beautiful. He smiled at her and waved toward a small bench set to let people overlook the scenery, smiling some more as he looked at Remy. He wondered if she could ever have a thing for him. He was awkward and maybe a bit creepy dating her without her knowledge...well, having this date without her knowledge. He wasn't that creepy.

"What do you do besides science, Remy?" he asked. "Do you have other interests? What made you a scientist?"

The site was breathtaking. Remy stared out on the lake, taking in the beauty and science of the moons reflections in the water. It was moments like these where she loved her job and her appreciation for the universe. She was glad she'd decided to join the engineer on the planet, she would have really regretted not seeing this.

She pondered his question for a moment, "Medical issues arose in my childhood rendering me incapable of physical activities, so I took to my studies and chose science as it interested me the most." she said, being honest while keeping her heart issues to herself. She rubbed her chest for a moment in thought, "I like knowing how things work and finding the solutions to biological and chemical anomalies. It gives me satisfaction." She did love her work, it was all she really knew in life.

"I suppose its the same reason you became an engineer, correct?"

Remy nodded and looked out on the water, thinking over his answer. It was simple really, she almost didn't understand it. Fixing problems spans over all the fields, why engineering? She would have asked more, but his demeanor changed when discussing his upbringing, so she let it be.

"I suppose engineering presents plenty of problems to fix." She mused, mostly speaking to herself then him. She rubbed her chest some more while gazing at the landscape, losing herself in thoughts for a moment.

"My sister and I had to work at our relationship but we've built a foundation. I like to build things with people. Take something I know and expand on it in the best way for both of us. You're in science. You kind of go beyond just the simple foundation of things and I admire and envy that. I'm just the rock, but you're the substance. You're the future, you know?"

He smiled at her and blushed a little. He felt like he was spilling out a little much and that Remy might look too deeply into it. Yeah he wanted some sort of future with her but he didn't want to move fast. They had all the time in the world. This was about getting to know each other better and he was enjoying it. In fact he couldn't ask for better company. Still, he had a question.

"Is something wrong, Remy?" he asked. "You keep rubbing your chest."

Remy dropped her hand from her chest, she really needed to stop doing it absentmindedly. She blushed, "It's nothing" She muttered. Negative feelings of anger, sadness, regret, and depression welled up in her chest, the ice cold weight ever present. At this point she had resigned herself to believing that the cold dead weight of the new heart would always be there and she would never be the same. She was always going to hate the new heart and resent the events of SB7 that lead to the failure of her old heart. She sighed, wishing she could enjoy the site of the landscape the way she had before, but it was too late.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

"I'm sure that sounds vague, but engineering makes me feel like I can fix anything--you know, out things together, tinker...build." Aaron explained.

She blushed, "It's nothing," She muttered.

"Hey, forget I asked," Aaron said quickly.

He knew he'd just touched on a really sore subject and it made him frown. All he could think about now was how he'd probably ruined this and he stood up from the bench they were sitting on, reaching out his hand. He didn't want to be too forward but he wanted to try and move forward. Move this further. They could do with a bite to eat and he still didn't know where they stood on touching.

"How about some food? You have to admit, we do well with food." he smiled.

It was going to take a bit for her to get up and get off the ship...

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted. He walked in front of her and reached out gingerly, resting his hand on her shoulder. Aaron didn't want to push but he was genuinely concerned about her and he wanted her to know that he cared. He wanted Remy to know that she could trust him and that he wanted to be someone that she could count on always.

"Look, I know you don't really know me, but you can talk to me," he tried. "I think I might understand better than you think I will. Try me."

It was going to take a bit for her to get up and get off the ship...

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

"I'm sure that sounds vague, but engineering makes me feel like I can fix anything--you know, out things together, tinker...build." Aaron explained.

She blushed, "It's nothing," She muttered.

Remy paused in thought. The Weight was there, ruining the moment and the day with it. She didn't move from her seat. She stared out on the water, trying to find that peace she'd felt moments ago, but it was lost. She sighed in frustration, ignoring his hand and stood up, she brushed past him without answering his question. Her mind was in another place, and her hand was back on her chest again.

Aaron felt like he'd ruined the whole moment. "Remy...hey, Remy,"

Try me."

Remy looked at his hand on her shoulder, hearing his words but not entirely comprehending them. She pulled back, "I.... I'm just a bit..." She was at a loss of words. She closed her eyes and tried to concentrate on breathing, feeling tears well up a bit. She breathed deep, trying to force the tears back, but a few fell down her cheek. "There is a weight and it's always there, it won't go. It keeps coming back. So cold. Always cold and heavy." She was babbling and rambling, more to herself then the engineer. She wasn't aware of him there, she was to busy trying to breath and ignore the darkness and the weight in her chest. She stifled a sob as she had a few flashbacks of the transplant, the fear of that day and the anger she felt.

He was confused but determined. The beautiful woman in front of him was crying and distraught and he felt bad. Aaron wanted to make this all better for her, but he didn't quite know how. All he could do was be here for her...and he would be.

"I'm sure that sounds vague, but engineering makes me feel like I can fix anything--you know, out things together, tinker...build." Aaron explained.

She blushed, "It's nothing," She muttered.

Aaron instinctively reached up to brush her tears away with his thumbs. "Remy, why do you think this is cold inside here? Hell, you're one of the sweetest people I know. What happened?"

He was confused but determined. The beautiful woman in front of him was crying and distraught and he felt bad. Aaron wanted to make this all better for her, but he didn't quite know how. All he could do was be here for her...and he would be.

Remy sat back down on the bench, burying her head in her hands while she let out some sobs. She was aware of Aaron being close, and she wanted to go back to her quarters and stay there till she was composed again, but she couldn't bring herself to move. She sobbed a bit more, her shoulders heaving as the emotions she'd been stifling came out. "I just... I'm just.... I'm so tired of how I feel." She sobbed, hiding her face in her hands and trying to get her breathing under control, but the tears still kept falling.

It was going to take a bit for her to get up and get off the ship...

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

Aaron was pretty sure that it was too soon to pull Remy into an embrace. Still, he rested his hands on her shoulders and gave them a gentle squeeze before, stroking her hair softly and yet still trying to keep some distance. He wanted her to know that she wasn't alone even though he still wasn't entirely sure of what was happening. Something had happened to her, he knew that, but he didn't know what and he didn't know how to make it better. All he could do was be there.

"Then we have to find a way to make you feel happy--feel good," Aaron suggested as he looked at Remy fondly. "How can I make that happen for you?"

"My mother was kind of...she was hard on my sis and I and while Marissa chose a profession with violence to vent, I chose something that could fix problems. I really enjoy it, but that's the main reason."

She didn't need to know about his mother's problems. That was too personal.

"I'm sure that sounds vague, but engineering makes me feel like I can fix anything--you know, out things together, tinker...build." Aaron explained.

She blushed, "It's nothing," She muttered.

Remy sniffed a bit, wiping her nose and some tears from her cheeks. She covered her eyes with her hands and rested her elbows on her knees so he couldn't see her face, "There's nothing you can do. Lillian has tried and I still have this cold weight in my chest that never goes away. It was gone for a while while we were here at the lake but now its back. I just want to feel right again and I haven't since I left Starbase." She felt more tears and a sob building but she held it back, trying hard to compose herself.

It was going to take a bit for her to get up and get off the ship...

Then he realized that him standing there with a stupid grin on his face was probably having the negative affect on her that he wanted.

Aaron smiled at that and led Remy off of the ship, taking her down to the planet and taking a deep breath. He wasn't quite sure what kind of girl she was.

Aaron smiled and nodded. He could understand and appreciate that and sat down next to her on the bench, staying close but not too close. He looked at the water as he thought of his answer. How much to tell her and how much to keep to himself?

Aaron had a feeling that he never should have mentioned anything. At the same time, what was done was done and he wanted to make Remy feel better anyway that he could and he was going to do just that no matter what. So he wrapped an arm around her and stroked her hair to keep her calm. That was important to him. She was important to him. He smiled a little bit and thought up something else that might make Remy a little happier then--get that warm feeling back.

"How about a visit to the oldest most historic building here?" Aaron asked her slowly. "I like spending time with you, Remy, and I want to make it all better. I don't want you to feel cold alright? You and I are going to beat this, I know it."

She blushed, "It's nothing," She muttered.

Taking a few deep breaths and wiping her eyes, she looked up and thought for a moment about his words. As much as she wanted go hide in her quarters for the rest of the day and never see Aaron again, she really had been enjoying spending time with him. She realized she hadn't necessarily told him what had happened to her, surely if he knew the whole story her nonsensical ramblings would have made more sense. But he was still here, and willing to help.

"I...I would like that.." She said quietly, standing and straightening out her disheveled appearance.
