Lillian knew that she had given Alyssa the next two more days to sleep as much as she wanted, but after giving her a night to herself--and to have a date no less, she'd heard from idle ship gossip--it was time to figure a few things out. She was getting used to the woman and wanted her to stay even though Lydia was here to stay as well and that reminded her of another thing--she needed to talk to Lydia. There was so much to do and just not enough time to do it in and Lillian was more thankful for Carlos and Marlo than she had been in a long time.

"Don't worry, Kiddo, Mommy will get some time off her feet soon too--promise." Lillian told her stomach as she wandered down the hall to Alyssa's Quarters and rang the door chime.

Lillian smiled and made her way into the quarters, running her fingers through her ponytail and taking a deep breath. She had to stay calm and tactful and also just be her emotional self--that was quite the balance to maintain, but she could do it. By now she had a lot of practice with that being Taylor's captain and his wife to be, so she could do this.

"I've been going through your files and it has been brought to my attention that you are more than a counselor. Your training makes it so that you can have other jobs here...you'd just have to want to stay here bad enough." Lillian told her with a smile on her face.

She had told her cousin that she was staying, and would be very sad if it weren't true. Plus with her staying, she and Kalen could keep dating. Not to mention, she wanted to know the captain better because of all of the stories her cousin had told her. There were some upsides to this. She just hoped that the Captain would approve.

"If you would like, the marines are now no longer with us--not really. Taylor is in charge of just a small elite team because Starfleet Marine Command told him that was all that he got and so I need more Security officers if that would interest you. You are certainly well trained to be a security officer and Lieutenant Commander Garren is a really lovely and rather capable young woman."

She smiled and took a deep breath before she continued. "I'm really glad that you decided to stay and Kara tells me that young love is blossoming. While I believe that my sister-in-law is a hopeless romantic, never be afraid to let someone in. I've met Kalen, and he and Taylor are becoming friends and I really think that he's a terrific guy and a skilled pilot so ship rumors aside, go for it. That's from one woman to another, not some kind of order, I promise you."

She was very glad to know that the Captain approved. Meant that she didn't have to hide anything, and that she could mess with her cousin.

"I was curious if you minded a few harmless pranks?" Alyssa asked, knowing a few pranks that she could do if permitted.

"I'll fill out the necessary paperwork then," Lillian laughed a little bit as Alyssa asked her her question. "As long as they're harmless, I really don't see a problem. Just don't disrupt the natural order of things and if someone that outranks you wants you out of their area, then leave their area. Other than that, this place is your home just as its the rest of ours."

She smiled at her and took a seat for a moment because she had been on her feet all morning and still had to do some more. Lillian still had to pay Lydia a visit and deal with those kinds of things and it was best to do that now after she'd had a full night of sleep. She still wasn't the happiest person, but she knew that some things were above her and even Elena would make her see the counselor.

"So...how was your date?" Lillian asked, honestly curious.

She had to think. Mainly because she was with him twice yesterday. Once for a date, and the other for her breakdown; which she still found weird and sort of wish it didn't happen. "It was good. I was happy until I chatted with Lydia. Then I went to Kalen and told him stuff about my family. I haven't actually decide if I regret telling him or not. The date was really good."

I was happy until I chatted with Lydia. Then I went to Kalen and told him stuff about my family. I haven't actually decide if I regret telling him or not. The date was really good."

"Well, you're talking to a Betazoid, a wife to be and a mother--believe me when I tell you that letting people in is a good thing, even if it doesn't entirely feel that way at first. People have a habit of surprising you and as far as Kalen is concerned, he seems like a really decent guy." Lillian told her with a smile on her face. "So I'm glad that the date when well."

Lillian knew that the visit was about work and yet she couldn't help but make sure that her crew members were happy. She was happy--in fact given her life even with her doubts about Sarah right now, she was ecstatic. She was going to marry the man that she loved more than anything and they were having a baby together and she wanted everyone else to be that happy. Just...just on top of all of this she was stressed and she had a feeling that given even a little of time to think about it all, she would have a freak out.

"So my advice is to not push Kalen away and to talk to Lieutenant Commander Garren." Lillian told Alyssa, resting her hand on her shoulder and giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze. "You're going to be fine, and I want you to talk to your department head and let her know that you're switching and let her give you the tour and orders that you need. Oh, and you're invited to my weddings, just so you know."

Lillian knew that she had given Alyssa the next two more days to sleep as much as she wanted, but after giving her a night to herself--and to have a date no less, she'd heard from idle ship gossip--it was time to figure a few things out. "I've been going through your files and it has been brought to my attention that you are more than a counselor. Your training makes it so that you can have other jobs here...you'd just have to want to stay here bad enough." Lillian told her with a smile on her face.

Alyssa stared at her. "Yes, I would like to stay. What jobs do you have in mind?"

"I told you I wanted you to stay, so it's up to you," Lillian told her, smiling when she knew that Alyssa was for sure staying with them.

"Glad it's not an order." Alyssa smiled. "I think I'll do Security if you don't mind. I've heard good things about Lieutenant Commander Garren, and wouldn't mind getting to know her better."

"Honestly?" Alyssa asked back.

She had to think. Mainly because she was with him twice yesterday. Once for a date, and the other for her breakdown; which she still found weird and sort of wished it didn't happen. "It was good. I was happy until I chatted with Lydia. Then I went to Kalen and told him stuff about my family. I haven't actually decide if I regret telling him or not. The date was really good."

"Thanks. Could I ask you something?" Alyssa asked, unsure if she was about to do something stupid.

Alyssa was hoping that the Captain would agree with her instead of Lydia. She wasn't even sure if the Captain had already talked with Lydia. Her family problems don't need to be on the ship, and she wanted to keep it that way.

One of the perks of being a Betazoid was growing up believing in sharing everything with everyone else and while she'd been a bit Vulcan trained, she still loved it. She loved talking to people about things and trying to help them with their problems and she wanted everyone to know that she was there for them. Lillian knew so much being captain and while most captains would stay out of everything that had to do with personal lives, she thrived on helping.

"Always remember that," she added with a smile.

Lillian nodded slowly as she took in Alyssa's words and realized that she really needed to think about this before she up and answered it. She knew that not everyone was close to their family like she was to hers--in fact it seemed to her that she and Marlo were the only ones who were close to their family--but she also knew not to meddle. Part of becoming who she was so that Salyn would love her like he did was becoming less Betazoid and she knew this was a time to exercise that restraint.

"You are my crew member and so is Lydia, so I will stand by you both no matter what for as long as I can," Lillian began and then she nodded. "I am not going to get in the middle of this, but I can assure you that I'm not going to make you do anything you don't want to do. What you do and don't say and/or do with your parents is your business and yours alone and I want to keep it that way. Besides, we can't let things get too personal in the work place, am I right? Still...always know you can come to me--I'm always here."

"You can ask me anything that you want," Lillian told her honestly.

Alyssa nodded, and tried to word what she wanted to say right. "I know you don't know what went on with my parents and I." She had to breathe. "Could you not agree to any plan or plans that Lydia may have involving family? I'm not ready to talk with my parents and Lydia as my dearest cousin probably won't respect that. I just feel that family problems, especially mine, shouldn't be handled on the ship. I don't want to cause any problems here, and the last time Lydia tried to help, I had to leave the ship because I couldn't do my duties. I really don't want that to happen again."

Alyssa nodded. "I just know that Lydia has something planned. It's just going to take me more time than she's liking right now. I may take you up on that. And you're right, too personal shouldn't be in the work place."

Alyssa was glad that the Captain wasn't pushing to know what happened. She also glad that there was a good chance for them to be friends. She knew that trust was to be earned, not just given away. She'd be just fine here, and she knew it.

Alyssa was up, but still in her pajamas. She answered the door and was surprised to see Lillian. "Captain. Please come in." She moved so that Lillian could walk in.

Alyssa stared at her. "Yes, I would like to stay. What jobs do you have in mind?"

"I told you I wanted you to stay, so it's up to you," Lillian told her, smiling when she knew that Alyssa was for sure staying with them.

"Glad it's not an order." Alyssa smiled. "I think I'll do Security if you don't mind. I've heard good things about Lieutenant Commander Garren, and wouldn't mind getting to know her better."

She was very glad to know that the Captain approved. Meant that she didn't have to hide anything, and that she could mess with her cousin.

"While I'm not going to stop Lydia from bringing them here if that's her plan as they are her parents too, but I won't be involved in any sort of ambush, I promise." Lillian promised easily. "I don't know what happened with you and your parents and I'm not going to ask because it's your business and you'd tell me if it was important to how you functioned. You are a good crew member and a lovely woman and I don't think that you have anything to worry about. Move at your own pace, though I do think you should make amends if you can, just on your own terms in your own time."

She smiled as she rested her hand on her baby bump because she honestly felt blessed among all of these people who had family issues. She was close to her siblings and her parents and she was going to make sure that her children knew that they could be close to her. IT made her want to confront Taylor about the thing with his parents, but she knew that pushing the issue wasn't healthy even though she wanted her children to know their other grandparents.

"If you want someone to talk to that would understand, talk to Taylor--some bad things happened with him and his parents and while as you know he's not a talker, he gets it. He might have pointers." Lillian said with a shrug.
